We get our eggs from my in-laws farm and I really miss them when they slow down and I have to buy a dozen or so from the store.Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05384000945623477360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548269993302469207.post-47727856631759118292012-01-27T16:19:35.785-08:002012-01-27T16:19:35.785-08:00Nell, You are always cracking me up! That one made me bawl.
I feel your Walmart egg buying pain! We had a badger kill off all my chickens. They were young and had just started laying too! I was SO mad. Hope she gets to feeling better asap!
I've not braved having chickens, I fear for there little lives too much, so I guess we'll be buying eggs forever. But we have milk cows, so that helps save, when they are milking, of course. ha!

Yes, why can't diesel be cheaper than gas! It erks us to no end! I remember the old days (like 5 years ago) when it was all under two bucks....

Hope the weekend is great!Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07045711592529089292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548269993302469207.post-77841913255014749252012-01-26T06:28:10.826-08:002012-01-26T06:28:10.826-08:00Not sure if I have ever commented on your blog bef...Not sure if I have ever commented on your blog before but I sure enjoy reading it.

I so feel your pain. Last summer we lost our hens to the “wild things” that prowl in the night. We too had to buy store eggs for the first time in years. The eggs were okay for baking but not to eat! Out of desperation I bought some older hens, that only laid a few eggs here and there, to keep us supplied in “eating eggs” while we waited for the new chicks to grow and begin laying eggs; which thankfully began right before Christmas.Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02496784583960011452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548269993302469207.post-64333632915492309472012-01-26T05:54:54.917-08:002012-01-26T05:54:54.917-08:00Just be happy that your fuel prices are still lowe...Just be happy that your fuel prices are still lower than those in Canada! We are paying about 1.25/Litre for gas. That's 4.74/Gallon! That's why mom and I take the US route to Grandpas, it's longer, but the fuel is sometimes almost half the price.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18109237691351336970noreply@blogger.com
